How SUBOXONE® Works
Suboxone® is an FDA approved addiction treatment to completely eliminate craving and withdrawal symptoms due to opiate addiction, allowing you to think and operate normally. Suboxone® medication comes in the form of a sublingual film and includes two ingredients, buprenorphine and naloxone in a ratio of 4:1. There are a number of similar medications that are also used to treat opiate addiction such as Bunavail and Zubsolv. Our highly trained suboxone doctors are here to help choose the right treatment plan for you.
What is Buprenorphine?
Buprenorphine is a partial-agonist, which only has a limited opioid effect. Buprenorphine competes with the full-agonist opioids (such as morphine and heroin) for the opioid receptor in the brain. Buprenorphine has an exceptionally strong binding ability, which displaces existing opioids and prevents others from attaching to the receptor.
Vivitrol® treatment is NOW AVAILABLE for qualifying patients! For some patients, our doctors may recommend a treatment protocol using Vivitrol®. To learn more, call our office at
